Tapis Associates resumed work on the Red Rock Canyon, Section 16 and White Acres Master and Management Plan with a public meeting on August 1st. The City of Colorado Springs had placed the master planning effort on hold in November 2011 to facilitate a Relationship Building Process with volunteer regional park friend’s groups. The system-wide outcome clearly defined the roles and responsibilities of the City while actively engaging the volunteers in annual project selection and prioritization. This clarity now allows the Red Rock Canyon process to move forward with planning and management.
Additional Public meetings are scheduled August 22, and September 5 and 11. More information can be found at http://springsgov.com/Page.aspx?NavID=4135
